Doctoral Financial Support

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill provides significant funding to doctoral students, including tuition, health insurance, and stipends for teaching and research. Doctoral students who present their research at professional conferences may receive travel support.

You will automatically be considered for these funding opportunities as a doctoral student at our School:

Doctoral students who work with faculty mentors on specific research projects may also receive additional support with external funding. (In past years, this has included funding from the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute of Justice, the Fahs-Beck Fund, and other government agencies and private foundations.)
